aday - now in Web 2.0!
Given enough time and attention,
I guess anything is possible.
It’s taken me ages (almost 4 years?) to stop procrastinating, but finally I've started my own website which ISN'T a bunch of text written *.htm files or some outdated phpws code,
I've moved to Drupal! -- GOOD MOVE! - I'm VERY impressed with the way it works.
Might be a bit of a learning curve to start with but defiantly worth it!
The development of Websites from scratch takes far too long, especially when you take into consideration implementation of RSS feeds, writing 'SECURE' code, debugging, and having fancy web widgets to name a few aspects.
I'm not much of a graphical designer either, yet I still think everything looks alike these days with templates.
Maybe there isn't much originality/creativity left on this planet when it comes to design.... Besides, how can both sides of the brain for graphic creativity and working with and developing code be active at the same time? - Oh well! - Least not for me..
Most I can do here is really just modifying the code when/where I need too, modify the template where I can - And just keep up to date with releases.

There used to be a time where coding your own website from utter scratch was cool - Only thing is there’s too much out there now!
With the majority of open source developers working on web 2.0 applications (cms'es/blogs/other sf.net goodies) - Everybody wins! Everybody shares! Everybody evolves!
